BLW Meals at 9 months

Hi Reader,

I can't believe baby Madeline is 10 months old already!

It's been fun seeing her reach milestones like crawling. Just this week she's been pulling herself up on furniture and attempting to stand.

Over the past month, she's also been having three meals already—mostly because she really likes being a part of family meals. Most babies are typically ready for 3 meals a day by the time they are 10 or 11 months old but it's not uncommon to see some babies having 3 meals much earlier.

Lately, raspberries, oranges, tofu, and falafel have been foods she really enjoys. Raspberries are perhaps her most desired food right now since she finished a small container for breakfast on her own!

Here are a few meals that she had at 9 months:

During this time, I was offering foods in different sizes as she was transitioning from finger-shaped foods to more bite size pieces. She still does better with finger-shaped for certain foods (like toast) and bite sizes pieces for others (like fruits and certain veggies).

This is usually an in-between period for sizes and textures where you may have to play around a bit to see what's most appropriate and preferred by your little one.

It's been a joy watching her eat. I love watching how she picks up a food with one hand and then cradles her other hand underneath it for support. Super cute!

In Module 3, Lesson 5, you'll learn about texture progression and advancement so you can confidently prepare a meal that suits your baby's needs—just like how I've been doing with Madeline this month.

Happy vegan feeding,

Karla

Hey Reader, Are you good at treating your child's coughs? I'm not. And neither were my parents back when I was 17 years old with a persistent cough. Not because they didn't care about helping me get better but because they just weren't experts in medicine. I know this because my Mexican parents live by the Vicks Vaporub 'cure-all' ointment. When I was 17, I had a terrible cough that wouldn't let me sleep. You know, where the moment you lay down on your bed, you cough and cough and cough... My...
